Emma returns from her honeymoon find a letter from her husband’s dead ex-wife, Alice.
Shaken, she tries to put it behind her. Surely this is someone’s sick idea of a prank? But more letters appear and they seem to know details about Benjamin and their relationship that no one else would know.
Is Alice actually alive? Did she fake her death? And if so, can Benjamin actually be trusted? Is someone trying to drive a wedge in Emma’s marriage?
This felt like a long read however I NEEDED to know what was going on. The ending was incredible. The writing was great. If you’re looking for a compelling read, I strongly recommend this book.
When Emma married Benjamin, her life came as close to perfect as someone like her ever could have dreamed. No longer just working for his father, she was part of the family. Helping Benjamin move on from the tragic loss of his first wife hasn’t always been easy – tears, anniversaries, photos of her everywhere – but it brought them closer together, even if his daughter still spends all her time shut up in her room.
